MAXIM: Dead Fish VS Live Fish

Any old dead fish can float downstream.
It takes a determined live fish to fight their way upstream.

THOUGHT: God's Blessings

I started a new health program today (AKA a diet), so all day I have been eating moderately. (My stomach has been growling and groaning all day it seems.) However, I am proud of my efforts and very grateful for the Lord's help. However, after my day of semi-success, wouldn't you know that when I go to a little get-to-gether at my church tonight they are serving ice cream and chocolate chip cookies. *Drool* I believe the Lord heard me inwardly desiring some sweetness and chocolate, and provided me a spiritual blessing, friendly fellowship, and a happily received gift for my sweet tooth.  God is good to me. So very good. Praise the Lord!

THOUGHT: Realism or Romanticism? That is the question.

I know it is wifty of me to do so, but sometimes I catch myself falling into a dreamy state of romanticism. It is a quality of mine of which I am not sure whether to hastily discourage with firm indifference; eagerly embracing the un-idealistic edges of reality... Or, should I indeed nurture this whimsy within, and take an unashamed pride in my proverbial bleeding heart.

BIBLE VERSE: 1 Chronicles 16:29

"Give unto the LORD the glory [due] unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness." - 1 Chronicles 16:29

THOUGHT: Nap of the Golden Glow

The perfect nap, to me, is the one you take when the sun is golden, and fills the early evening air with pixie dust. The sky is blue. The air is crisp and fresh. It's the kind of day when you find yourself stretching out all the way to the bottom of your socked feet, and suddenly the inexplicable urge to curl up in a happy-pre-spring-hibernation type of nap takes hold on you before you even know what has happened. Your favorite sweater hugs your arms as if you were wearing a blanket all over. Finding yourself bathed in the warmth of the sun pouring through your window. The golden glow leaves you with a sleepy feeling that wells up behind your eyes and slowly rests you into nigh-perfect relaxation.

THOUGHT: Neverland

Once upon a childhood, the blanket castles of our youth rise and fall all too soon. The drawn houses imagined of chalk on concrete are washed away with the rain of time leaving only the traces of puerility. Folds of fabric mounded in a heap, and mottles of color scattered through the streets.

QUOTE: A New Book - Brad Paisley

"Tomorrow, is the first blank page of a 365 page book. Write a good one." - Braid Paisley
