Most women would contend that Disney Princes have destroyed their expectations in the everyday man. I, on the other hand, blame this unhealthy loss of expectations entirely on Jane Austen and her impeccable, male literary personas. Yes, indeed. Mr. Darcy, Colonel Brandon, and Mr. Knightly ruined me for typical men long before Prince Charming and Prince Eric even attempted such a feat.
I also blame this loss on Richard Dean Anderson.
(If you need an explanation as to why Richard Dean Anderson is also blamed for this grave loss, all you need do is Google him. However, if you need to Google him, you might want to invest in some quality viewing time of all 7 seasons of MacGyver. Then you will really know the gravity of his part in this matter.)
